My drugstore must-haves

  • Maybelline Colossal Go Chaotic Mascara

I finally found a mascara that actually does what it's advertised to do and it is also at a bargain price. The reason I love the mascara it's because it volumized my lashes and made them look fuller.

  • Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan

I discovered this hair oil when I went to have my hair cut. The hairdresser lady used this on my hair and recommended to use it after every wash. I apply it on washed damp hair, only one or two drops at the most and my hair feels so soft and nourished once dried. I also use it when I straighten or curl my hair, only applying it at the hair ends to get a more finished look.

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover Pads

I decided to buy these for my holiday as I thought they would be handy and would avoid leakages from plastic bottles. These pads are amazing, the thoroughly removed all eye make-up and were very gentle on my eyes. Left my eyes feeling clean, soft, and refreshed. I've been using these for almost a year now.

  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Shine Control Foundation

I use this as a concealer instead of using it as a foundation as it is too heavyweight for my skin, but perfect to cover any blemishes or spots.

Whiter teeth in just 2 minutes at home

What you'll need:

  • 1 lemon
  • baking soda
  • cotton buds

First cut the lemon in half and let it sit for 10 minutes. In a little container mix 1 tbsp baking soda with 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice. I prefer to use a cotton bud to apply it on teeth. Make sure you don't leave the solution on your teeth for more than 2 minutes (even if you want them really white!) You can repeat this treatment once at 3-4 weeks for better results. Hope you give it a go!

Tips every woman should try

  • Before applying your mascara put it in your bra for 10 minutes. This will warm up the mascara and it will make it so much easier to apply.
  • After you apply your nail polish dip your fingers into a bowl of ice cold water for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This will make them dry quicker.
  •  For quick curls braid your hair and then run your hair straightener over each braid.
  • For natural eyebrows spray a clean mascara wand with hairspray and brush the eyebrows into place. This will instantly give you a natural but well put together look.
  • It is advised to clean your make up brushes at least once a week. Best way to do this is with Johnson's Baby First Bath or Johnson's Baby Shampoo. You can clean the brushes under running water for the best results.
  • Add just the tiniest amount of highlighter to the top of your Cupid's Bow to create the illusion of fuller lips. The easiest way is to apply it with your finger.

How to make your make-up last longer

Step 1. Exfoliate/ Scrub
This is an important step before applying your make up. After you use a scrubber and wash it off, your skin will have a smoother surface, your make up will look more even and it will last more. I started used Garnier 3 in 1 Pure Active Wash, Scrub & Mask. You can find it in all drugstores or supermarkets like Tesco from £3.50/ 150 ml.

Step 2. Use an oil control primer
My favorite primer is M.A.C oil control Lotion which is lightweight and I did notice a change from the first day I started using it. It is best to apply on the T-zone however if you have combination or oily skin you can apply all over. It will last you quite a while as you only need a pea size amount for each application.
On their website it is £24,50/ 50 ml.

Step 3. Choose an oil free foundation/ concealer
I have been using M.A.C studio fix foundation for the past year until I found Rimmel Fit Me Matte& Poreless Foundation. I have been using it for a month now and it's a good medium coverage, perfect from normal skin to oily skin. It is really easy to apply, light and long lasting, even in warm weather.
You can find it in Boots for £5,99/ 30 ml.

Step 4. Use a translucent sheer powder instead of a coloured powder
This powder performs miracles. It looks like a white powder and you only need a little amount on your T-zone once or a couple of times a day, depending on your skin type. I use this powder over the foundation/concealer and being lightweight it makes my skin look smooth and flawless. I used many translucent powders from £2,99 to £25 but this has to be my holy grail. NYX studio translucent finishing powder which is £8.

Step 5. Use setting/finishing spray
Setting/ finishing sprays are designed to stop make up from melting off your skin, especially in hot weather. Only apply 1-2 puffs from at least 20 cm away from the face. I like the M.A.C Prep+ Prime Fix +  because it dries quick and it leaves my face so smooth and soft. You can buy it from M.A.C website and it is £17.50/ 100 ml.
